UVAC 2008 Brochure

UVAC 2008

World's most advanced solar receiver

Solel's UVAC 2008 is the world's most advanced solar receiver, with:

  • Market leading electrical output
  • Highest operator revenues
  • Guaranteed performance and durabilty, and most importantly
  • Proven track record, with over 150,000 receivers operating in the Mojave Desert.

The UVAC 2008 features extremely low mean thermal emissivity (ε < 0.10 at 400c, compared to ε < 0.14 for the competition) in vacuum and air.  For a 50 MW plant in Spain, for example, this feature translates into increased annual output of 6480 MWh and additional annual revenues of € 2.0 million.  The UVAC 2008 also includes leading absorptance, transmissivity, and increased net exposure to available radiation through its narrow bellow and low profile radiation shield.

Plus, Solel's UVACs include their patented getter system, which is designed for 20 years of vacuum stability, preventing hydrogen permeation and eliminating the output-reducing "hot tube" phenomenon.

Additional annual revenues for typical 50MW facility in Andalusia as compared to other receivers
Emissivity          < 9-10%
Compared to 13-14% for others
Equivalent to ~ € 2 million
Absorptance      >  96 %Equivalent to ~ € .4 million
Transmissivity   > 96.5%Equivalent to ~ € .4 million
Vacuum maintenanceLost vacuum can lead to a € 7 million loss annually
TOTAL From €2.5 million and up to €10 million when others lose vacuum
